FAQs
Tree removal questions answered
How do you decide whether a tree needs removing or can be saved?
We assess the tree’s overall health, structural integrity, and the risk it poses to people and property. In many cases pruning or bracing can extend a tree’s life safely. We’ll always give you an honest recommendation — we won’t push for removal if it isn’t necessary.
How long does a tree removal take?
A straightforward small to medium tree can be removed in a few hours. Larger trees or those in difficult locations — close to buildings, power lines or with restricted access — can take a full day or more. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe when we quote.
What happens to the tree once it's removed?
All arisings — branches, logs and chippings — are removed from site and disposed of responsibly. If you’d like to keep the logs for firewood or the chippings for your garden, just let us know and we’ll leave them for you.
Do I need permission to remove a tree?
You may do if the tree has a Tree Preservation Order or is in a conservation area. Removing a protected tree without permission can result in a significant fine. We check this before every job and handle any necessary notification to the council on your behalf.
Can you remove a tree that's very close to my house?
Yes — this is one of the most common jobs we do. We use sectional felling techniques to bring the tree down in controlled sections, protecting your property throughout. We’ll assess the access and risks when we visit and talk you through our approach before starting.
